USING A DSMB
The
Delayed Surface Marker Buoy, commonly known as a DSMB, is a
crucial piece of kit used for diving in the sea. Unlike a normal surface marker
buoy, that stays on the surface from the beginning of the dive, a DSMB sits in
your pocket until you are ready to use it - hence the term delayed.
By attaching your
DSMB to a reel, you can then put some air into it and send it to the
surface
knowing it will give your whereabouts to the boat crew.
Using a
DSMB is an essential skill which Fiftybar Diving considers not only
useful but imperative if you want to come open water diving with us.
