PADI Advanced Open Water course
Are you a qualified open water diver and want to further your
diving experience?
With the PADI Advanced Open Water course you can. You
will take your diving education to the next level.
This is your next step after qualifying to PADI Open Water
level.
The PADI Adventure and Advanced courses consist of 5
dives, usually completed over 2 days - 3 dives one day and 2 the
next. Depending on logistics such as weather, this might not
always be possible, so it could take a little longer. By
completing the PADI Advanced Open Water Course you
will be qualified to dive to a depth of 30m, or 100 feet, with a
buddy anywhere in the world.
We run this course at a number of locations - either locally, or
around the South coast of England, at Stoney Cove, or even when
we go away to places such as the Red Sea.
To gain the PADI Advanced Open Water qualification you
will need to complete 5 dives:
-
DEEP DIVE - dive to a maximum depth of 30m, or 100 feet, and
learn more about the physiological and physical effects
-
NAVIGATION DIVE - learn more about using a compass for
patterns, taking bearings and using natural navigation.
-
THREE ELECTIVE DIVES chosen from the following list:
-
PEAK PERFORMANCE DIVE - Improve and learn more the
most important skill in diving, your buoyancy. Highly
recommended
-
SEARCH & RECOVERY - Learn how to find something that's
lost and bring it to the surface
-
NIGHT DIVE - It's another world down there
-
WRECK DIVE - Respect our wrecks by diving on them
-
MULTILEVEL & COMPUTER DIVE - Get more involved with
your dive by learning how to use the Wheel and a computer
-
BOAT DIVE - learn safe procedures diving from a boat
-
DRIFT DIVER - There are currents in those oceans,
learn to use them for your advantage.
Each one of these dives can be credited towards the
PADI SPECIALTY that it relates to.
There are no classroom theory sessions, but you will get a
crewpack, with some required knowledge reviews to
complete.
These can be assessed at home, by your
instructor, prior to diving.
